Independent school leadership

A Structured Evaluation Process Built for Independent and Private School Leaders

SuperEval structures the full leadership evaluation cycle for independent and private K-12 schools — from annual goal setting to final sign-off — built around your school’s existing rubric or a framework from our library. Clear process. Consistent documentation. Meaningful conversations.

How SuperEval Structures Independent School Leadership Evaluations

Independent and private schools operate with their own governance structures, leadership models, and accountability expectations. SuperEval adapts to your school’s unique organizational structure — giving boards, heads of school, and evaluators a defined, repeatable process so every evaluation is consistent, evidence-based, and focused on growth.

SuperEval supports leadership evaluations across a range of independent school roles including heads of school, division heads, directors of studies, directors of curriculum, directors of admissions, directors of financial aid, directors of communications, business managers, chief financial officers, and support staff.

Outline Annual Goals

The school leader and their evaluator or board co-establish annual goals tied to school priorities and strategic initiatives. The evaluator selects which competencies from the chosen rubric will be included and sets the weighting for each evaluation category.

Self-Evaluation

The school leader completes a self-evaluation — selecting competency ratings, adding reflective narrative, and uploading supporting evidence that demonstrates performance in each evaluated area.

Evaluator Review

The evaluator independently completes their own evaluation of the school leader, selecting ratings and adding comments and supporting evidence. Where multiple evaluators are assigned, each completes their evaluation independently.

Consolidate Evaluation Data

Where multiple evaluators are assigned, SuperEval automatically consolidates all evaluator data into a single evaluation — eliminating the need to manually collect and organize input from multiple sources. Self-assessment and evaluator ratings are displayed side by side, with all comments and evidence compiled into a single document.

Final Review & Sign-Off

The school leader’s self-assessment and the evaluator’s assessment are brought together for a final review — creating a clear basis for a meaningful growth conversation. Both parties apply digital signatures to finalize the evaluation, and SuperEval generates a complete evaluation record.
