How SuperEval Structures the School Board Self-Evaluation
Effective boards don’t just evaluate their superintendent — they evaluate themselves. SuperEval provides a structured, repeatable self-evaluation cycle that helps boards identify strengths, surface areas for development, and set shared goals that move the district forward.
Board Self-Evaluation
Each board member independently completes a self-evaluation using a shared framework, rating the board’s collective performance across key competency areas.

Board Self-Evaluation Data
Self-evaluation data is collated and displayed by collective average, individual board member, highest-rated competencies, and lowest-rated competencies — giving the full board a clear picture of where they stand.

Identify Board Goals
Using the self-evaluation data as a foundation, the board develops shared goals focused on the areas most in need of development.

Monitor Board Goals & Determine Results
The board documents progress toward its goals throughout the cycle and determines at conclusion whether goals were effectively met — then begins the next cycle with a renewed focus on growth.
Once complete, the board begins a new self-evaluation cycle — with the intention that competencies once identified as areas for development are now recognized as areas of strength. This is the SuperEval model: reflection, continuous improvement, and growth.
