North Dakota School Board Association Evaluation Framework (NDSBA)
Developed by the North Dakota School Board Association, this framework assesses board performance across six dimensions of competency: contextual, educational, interpersonal, analytical, and political. Rooted in the Trustee Demonstration Project — a five-year study spanning more than 20 colleges, schools, and nonprofit organizations — the instrument helps boards identify collective strengths and prioritize areas for development. Designed for ongoing self-assessment, it supports boards in building the governance practices that directly impact district outcomes.
